We acted as adjoining owner’s surveyor on a residential project where the ground floor flat was undertaking some extension and internal alteration works. Due to an error when installing a new internal steel beam, damage was caused to our appointing owner’s flat on the first-floor. Through a comprehensive pre-commencement schedule of condition report, we were able to clearly identify and evidence all the damage caused on behalf of the adjoining owner.

We then assisted the adjoining owner by producing a schedule of works and assistance with obtaining quotes for the required remedial repairs. We then negotiated a compensation payment to include the required repairs and other associated costs to ensure our client was able to return their flat to the condition it was in prior to the damage occurring.
