Party Wall Case Study: Hampstead, London

We were appointed to act as building owner’s surveyor for a residential extension scheme. Due to the ownership structure of the neighbouring properties, with various freehold and leasehold interests, there were a large number of adjoining owners to notify, and the client was concerned that the cost of the required Party Wall Awards may make the scheme unfeasible.

Through a strategy of clear and open communication to all adjoining owners, we were able to streamline the number of Awards that were needed and the number of surveyors appointed, so that the costs did not put the project at risk. This ensured the client’s project could proceed within their budget, and they were able to successfully complete their extension works.
