We acted as the adjoining owner’s surveyor for a large redevelopment scheme to a terraced property that comprised a double basement excavation and rooftop extension.

Through a robust checking process of the proposed works and the proposed methodology, the inclusion of movement monitoring, and securing funds in an escrow account to provide the adjoining owner with immediate access to funds should damage have occurred (known as security of expenses), we were able to ensure the adjoining owner was fully protected during the works.

The works were successfully completed without incident, and the Party Wall process helped the neighbouring owners remain on good terms throughout what was a substantial and disruptive development project.
